This was not one of my favorites. There is quite a formulaic approach to many of his books and this is one of them. The boy girl tag team romance is getting really old. This one also smacked of Stephen King which Koontz in my opinion never does. He is still one of my favorite authors.
A bit hard to get through at first, but ultimately so inspirational, interesting, and important.
I don't know why, but it took me a few issues to really get into this. Maybe it's because I'm so out of touch with the Wildstorm Universe (if there even still is such a thing), that I just couldn't bring myself to care about any of the characters. Plus the fact that they're all pretty scummy. Holden only began to grow on me once he realized that he was enjoying being a bad guy in a way. Not sure if I care enough to pick up Season Two, but it would be nice to see if Brubaker has Holden continue along the path of immorality.
